Wee-Wee-Wee All The Way Home

Ten days in Utah, plus a couple good road trip songs, and eighteen hundred sixty seven split second pictures can only mean one thing:

SLIDE SHOW!

Whew! I haven’t done one for while and it went pretty smoothly until I almost collapsed under the pressure of picking music that people watching could enjoy without resorting to wedding music (or revealing my somewhat juvenile taste in music). At 2am I finally surrendered the idea of ever being cool in the music department, and the result is a little Rob Thomas followed by a little instrumental bluegrass which I am not ashamed to say I LOVE. This is important because while I want you to enjoy it the one time you might watch it, in my remaining years I will probably watch it over and over again. You know, since the truth behind why I make these slideshows lies somewhere between true love for my family, and the ability to use these smiling reels as weapons when my teenagers are acting like turds and I’m too tired to personally escort them on a guilt trip right that minute.

Utah was wonderful. AMAZING. Coming back home was thrilling, too. This trip marked the first time that going to Utah didn’t feel desperate, and returning to California didn’t make us feel like strangers in a strange land. I can’t say thank you enough to all the people who fill our lives with joy (and our belly’s with warm delicious calories of the savory and/or sweet variety!!)

(p.s. even if you don’t want to tuck into this whole slideshow, you should at least start it, those four burst photo’s seriously rock my world :)

It was worth the wait! I'm so glad you all had a great time and made some time for us during your whirlwind trip. Also, you look too adorable to be on a road trip, it kind of makes me a little angry. Happy for you, but a little angry.

That orange shirt, the one I am wearing with the little girls blowing kisses on the couch? I got that from the "17 dollars or LESS" store by laguna beach, that is the NAME of the store. And when I wore it the first time Russell asked me "did you buy that shirt because it's cute or because it's stupid?" and I told him "well, when I went to the store I asked the lady 'Where do you keep your stupid shirts?' and she showed me and I said 'Which one of these is the stupidest shirt?' and that's how I found this. Do you think it's stupid enough?"

He never responded because he thinks I'M the jerk. hahaha

Did I also ever tell you that my friend in high school had a monster crush on Amos Oveson? She totally did. I think she also took him to a dance and then he never really talked to her much after that. How funny is it that he's related to Jon? The end.

So CUTE!! Are you ready to come back yet? I am such a bad blogger/FBer/emailer/...wait for it...yes I do mean...Caller lately (that was painful to admit). Sorry I suck. I love the slide show so much (and luckily no one had to see my chunky butt for too long!) Love you and your stupid shirt!

Damnit! You are getting spammed now? I swear that wasn't me (although I may start "pranking" people with stuff about "biabetes" and sexual drugs now). I just came back to this post to tell you I will be a better blogger friend and comment on all of your past posts tomorrow. Good night :)

Well now I just look stupid. The spam post isn't even there anymore!? Oh well, not the first time I've looked stupid, won't be the last either :)

hey, no! does this mean I don't get YOUR comments about biabetes and sexual drugs?! I might need them! I have to see them before I will know if you are as stupid as my shirt!

Erin, I don't know if there is anyone left on the planet that has NOT had a crush on Amos Oveson. Maybe your friend could sit down with Alice and tell her how to recover from an Amos Oveson crush...

There really WAS a spam post, I swear! And it wasn't from me. I may not be able to spell, but I know biabetes starts with a D!

Ohhh hey! I was in there! I love those little people, and the sound of temporary pitter pattering around my ancient house. Not permanent pitter pattering. That would sound much less charming.

FORTY CUPCAKES. Yikes.
